Professor Isaiah (Shy) Arkin
Vice President for Research & Development, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Professor Isaiah (Shy) Arkin is Vice President for Research and Development at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the youngest individual ever to be appointed to this prestigious position. He is also the Director of Yissum, the University's technology transfer company, and the former Chair of the University's Alexander Silberman Institute of Life Sciences. A graduate of Hebrew University, Prof. Arkin was previously a lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at Cambridge University in England. In 2001, he joined the Hebrew University. He has contributed in myriad ways to the commercialization of the University's scientific and technological innovations, which help to advance Israel's economic growth and security.
